The White Desert Exploration Trek
(12 Days/ 11 Nights)
Day 1: Cairo – Baharia Oasis – Dr’s Hill
0700 Early start from Cairo, your private shuttle will pick you up early in the morning and head to Baharia Oasis. After our scheduled lunch stop in the Oasis, we begin our brief drive leaving the Oasis behind us and head to the mystical desert. Our trek is about 12km today, taking us from the Crystal Mountain and into a sand and small hills labyrinth till we reach the Dr’s Hill with its serene sand patches and hills where we will setup camp for the night. Dinner will be served around the campfire under the stars. *Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 2: Dr’s Hill – Rajeh Dunes
After our early breakfast we begin our walk and trek following the old Camel Caravan route between Baharia and Farafra Oases. We will have our scheduled lunch stop along the route and after which continue our walk till we reach Rajeh Sand Dunes where we will setup camp for the night. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 3: Rajeh Dunes – Agabat
Sunrises in the desert are not to be missed, have your jacket at hand as it can be chilly in the early hours of the day. After our early breakfast we begin our walk and trek through the dunes criss crossing a series of dunes till we reach our lunch stop. After which we continue our walk and descend into the Agabat Labyrinth with its giant white chalk hills and formations. We will be setting up camp for the night in the sand patches amongst the Agabat formations. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 4: Agabat – Karaween Dunes
As the first rays of sunlight hit the chalk formations around us as we also wake up, its a bewildering site to say the least. After Breakfast we begin our trekk through the Labyrinth of Agabat and visit the lonely Tamarex tree everyone now and then. We will have a scheduled lunch stop on route. After which we continue on into the Karaween dunes and witness the Crescents, Domes & Parallel (Seif) type of dunes as we walk along. We will be setting up camping within the Karaween dunes for the night. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 5: Karaween Dunes – Pac Man Hills
After our early breakfast we begin our walk and trek through the dunes and exit the dunes into a
labyrinth of flat-top hillls, “PacMan Hills” and have our scheduled lunch stop on route. After lunch we
continue on to the hidden tiny garden with Palm, Tamarex and Acacia trees and some desert Flaura &
Fauna that is rarely seen in the region. We will set up camp a short distance from the desert garden
giving everyone a chance to hike and explore around the area. Dinner will be served around the camp
fire.

Day 6: Pac Man Hills – Karaween Dunes
Sunrise in the desert is not to be missed. After our early breakfast we begin our walk and trek through the PacMan Hills and have our scheduled lunchstop on route. We continue our walk after lunch and head into the Karaween sand dunes where we will setup our campsite for the night. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 7: Karaween Dunes – El Serw Well – Al Wadi Al Sagheer
Our trekk today takes us through the Karaween sand dunes and onto Ein El Serw (Roman Well) Lunch stop and a well deserved wash at the well after 7 days of desert travel. We continue on with our walk to the smaller valler “Al Wadi Al Sagheer” with terrain and horizons changing continuously. Our campsite for the night will be a short walk from El Serw spring into El Wadi Al Sagheer and to imagine living here 2000 years ago during Roman times when this depression was lush with greens and vegetation of all kinds. The few remaining date palms have stories to tell of long gone times. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 8: Al Wadi Al Sagheer – El Matar Labyrinth
After breakfast we beginning our trek through the valley and walk along a series of escarpments with the grounds changing continuously under your feet. After our scheduled lunch stop on route, we will continue our walk till we reach the white hills labyrinth of El Matar where we will setup camp for the night. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 9: El Matar – Al Wadi al Kabeer
After breakfast we beginning our walk leaving El Matar behind us and head to the bigger valley “Al Wadi Al Kabeer”. With our scheduled lunchstop along the route, the valley takes us to lower grounds where it was once a lush green oasis just 2000 years ago. The tell tale signs of the long gone vegetation can still be seen. We will be setting up camp in the bigger valley. Dinner will be served around the camp fire. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 10: El Wadi El Kabeer – Ein Khadra – Old White Desert
After breakfast we beginning our trek through the valley and up onto an escarpment heading to Ein Khadra (Another Roman Well) and continue our hike to El Santa (2000 Year old Acacia Tree) for our scheduled lunch stop. After lunch we head into the Old White Desert. With endless lime/chalk formations that have been carved and shaped by the sand and wind for thousands of years. Tonight we are camped in the Old White Desert. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 11: Old White Desert – New White Desert
After our early breakfast we begin our walk and trek touring very different formations of the Old White Desert. Under your feet and embedded in the chalk formations are signs of a long gone ecosystem that once existed under the seas millions of years ago. After lunch we have a small trek till we reach our campsite in the New White Desert. *Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner *Camping Overnight
Day 12: New White Desert – Baharia – Cairo
The last sunrise in the White Desert and a final morning walk is not to be missed. After breakfast we hike till our meeting point with the vehicles and begin the drive to a hot well for a well deserved dip and continue on to Baharia Oasis for our scheduled lunch stop, and after which we begin our drive to Cairo. *Breakfast & Lunch *Camping Overnight
This expedition is active from November to April and could be tailored for groups of 8 to 20 persons.
Some physical endurance is required as to trek/hike for 15-20km per day for 7 days. Feel free to contact us for an offer
Cost includes:
